When the frogs sing louder than the storm…

Turns out, the birds don’t care about bad weather—or bad news.

The rains have been heavy this month. Those endless monsoon days where the clouds sit low and gray, and everything feels just a little too damp—inside and out.

I’ve noticed that when the skies carry that kind of weight, I sometimes do too. And it’s not just the rain. The world itself seems to be spinning in madness—headlines shouting, changing weather patterns, conflicts piling up.

It can feel impossible to hold any light when the noise outside is so loud.

And just when I begin to sink into that heaviness, something unexpected always calls me back.

Behind my house there’s a small creek. During the monsoons it comes alive, and this year the birds have been relentless in their song. Every morning they gather in the dripping branches, creating a layered chorus that feels bigger than the gray sky above them. And at night, the frogs begin their opera, turning the darkness into a strange kind of symphony.

Their voices rise regardless of the rain, regardless of the conflicts, regardless of whether the world feels like it’s falling apart.

They don’t ask for quiet. They don’t wait for peace. They sing anyway.

And in their song, I find myself breathing differently. Something inside me loosens. I hear them saying: Perhaps all is well, after all.

I share this with you because I think our animals—and the wild ones outside our doors—are always reminding us of something we forget.

That life doesn’t pause until conditions are perfect.

That even in the muddiest, noisiest, messiest seasons, there is still a song waiting to be heard.

So I wonder…

Where, in your own life, do you hear that reminder that life still sings?
What’s one place that feels muddy right now, that might secretly be alive underneath?

These reflections helped me soften into the season, instead of resisting it. Maybe they’ll help you, too.

The frog who finally croaked.

Here’s my own a-ha: the more I pay attention to animals (yes, even frogs), the more I discover micro-lessons of presence, trust, and showing up as you are.

For me, that “showing up” piece has always been raw and I've been working on my invisibility wounds. And lately I’ve been leaning into visibility in a new way— and started being more on YouTube.

I’m sharing conversations that matter to me—the ones that sit at the bridge between the practical and the mystical. Such as this one -

Animal Communication & Science: How a Skeptic Bridged Two Worlds

Come on over. It’s where the insights from all these years of working with some amazing cats and dogs unravel.

✨ A gift from this season.

And because I believe in giving back as much as I receive, I’d like to offer you something special.

🌿 I’m opening up one gift for you: a free 90-minute session for a human companion. Think of it as a little monsoon blessing.
It’s valid until August 31st, and all you need is the same email address you receive this newsletter with.

These always fill quickly. If this feels like yours, claim now.

Consider it a little piece of monsoon magic—a reminder that even in the storm, there are gifts waiting.

And I’ll leave you with this:

“When all the wars are over, a butterfly will still be beautiful.” — Ruskin Bond

May the birds, frogs, and butterflies remind you: joy doesn’t wait for perfect conditions. Neither should you.

With love and a little wild magic,
